About

I work and teach in many mediums and artistic styles. I have a wide range of artistic and technical experiences. From a 2000 square foot mural on a building to mechanical design drawings on the International Space Station, to a funny Caricature of 2 famous hosts of ESPN Pardon the Interruption. I can find many different ways to accomplish a task working around or with student's different abilities. Every student learns differently, I do not take the same approach for each student. I work with each student where they are and with what they want to work on - not a set schedule and lesson plan.

I do definitely tech technically sound and age old processes, as well as tips and tricks from over 30 years in business and 45 as an artist.

Another important ability I offer is my successful experience working with students age from 3-104, some with common to very uncommon differences or abilities (i.e. Autism Spectrum, ALS, Completely Blind, Macular Degeneration, ADD, ADHD, dyslexia and more)

For 28+ years I have owned and operated my Murals by Nora, creating murals, custom faux finishes, commissioned canvas artwork, portraits and more for a wide range of people and businesses. My largest mural is over 2,000 square feet, on a Historic Buliding exterior in Oklahoma. My smallest artwork is 2"*3", and every size in between.

Meeting and working with so many different types of people. Seeing and understanding how differently everyone learns. Not to mention the artwork itself, in all mediums. Helping the student realize they can create art no matter what. My Studio is open 7 days a week from 10am till Midnight. I'm on horse property so I even have a huge pasture, 2story Red Oak Barn and Lots of trees for Plein Air artwork.

One of the things I like about working with Nora is that if you need help with an art piece your working on, she is very helpful and gives good advice. She is also very easy to talk to.

My daughter has been going to Nora for a few years now and watching how she has progressed has been amazing to see. Her dream is create art and be able to mak a living room it and Nora is helping her gain the tools to be able to do just that. I have included one of the paintings she has finished in the last few months.

She was great to work with when figuring out a schedule that worked for both of us. She challenges my daughter to learn new skills, and in a way that my daughter feels comfortable. Each time we leave Nora’s, my daughter is proud to share what she worked on, what tools she could use that day, and how she was able to improve something on the project she works on there. It’s been wonderful experience, and I wish I would have started sooner!

Nora is the coolest. She knows every medium of art and meets you at your level. Highly recommended if you are trying to learn or master a specific medium of art.

    Frequently asked questions

A meet and greet at my studio. A look around at my artwork so the student can see some of my style.  I talk with the student to find out what they are interested in as far as art goes. I ask about any previous experience, what supplies they might have on hand, and ask what type of artwork they are interested in starting with.  I show and explain what all I have in my studio, the different medium supplies, drafting tables, easels, products etc. We discuss class days and times they are interested in.  Im available from 10am until midnight 7 days a week.

Ive been artistic my entire life, 50+ years. I come from extremely talented Mother and Grandmother. Ive owned my own Murals by Nora business for 28+ years, working with private and commercial clients to create murals, custom faux finishes, commissioned canvas art of all styles, themes, mediums. Thru the years Ive also continued to teach students of all ages.

First class/introductory price is $65. 1hr class is $30. 2 hr class is $60. There is a Discount when sessions are purchased in sets of 4 at one time. Accepted forms of payment Cash, All bank/credit cards, PayPal Zelle Venmo CashApp . Price of classes includes ALL supplies for all mediums except for custom canvas or paper. Classes are private one on one. Small groups are possible. No monetary refunds for classes or gift certificates.

Parents or adults of my mural clients asked if I would teach. I've taught art lessons  to a wide variety of students, all ages, all mediums. I've worked with students who have different physical or educational abilities.  Ive done  art therapy at several Assisted living centers in Chandler, Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale. And also art classes at various Chandler and Tempe public schools.

My student base is varied. Ages of my students range from 3 years old to my oldest at 104 years old.  Ive successfully worked with students with various differences and abilities including; ADD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum, ALS,  Macular Degeneration, Alzheimers, Dimentia, Totally Blind (yes, it was incredible), defiance disorders. I successfully work with ALL different types of people, art is a very adaptable area, even spanning Language and cultural barriers.

Very young students who grasp and excel are a pleasure to watch and work with. To be able to pass ony knowledge and love of art to very young is a honor.  Working with people of advanced ages who have never gotten the chance to really pursue their desire is GREAT.

My  One Woman art show  that was stressful and very successful. Working with people who are convinced they can not "even draw a straight line" but they are thrilled when they create a great piece of art.

Pick a teacher you like talking to, you like the different styles of artwork they produce, you feel comfortable in their studio.

Ask if they have created artwork similar to what you are interested in. Find out if they will let you change or move on when you want to. Make sure they are not going to "just touch up a little" on Your artwork when you are not at the studio. Some teachers "fix" after hours.  Ask what mediums they can teach, what their experience is. Ask to see their artwork.
