About

Nice to meet you! My name is Kiana and I’m a music teacher based in Burbank, CA. I operate out of my home studio in Burbank and surrounding areas within LA County. I’ve been teaching music and voice since age 15. I’m a working professional in the entertainment industry and I love passing on what I’ve learned to the next generation of performers. I recently recieved my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and my Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from California State University, Fullerton.

There's little I enjoy more than the feeling of a student grasping a new concept. Even though I'm not necessarily learning anything new, I love that I get to share that victory with my student.

Kiana is a thoughtful teacher who considers her students needs and wants and adapts her lessons accordingly. Shes super knowledgeable and able to explain sometimes complex ideas and make them easily accessible. As someone who has never properly sung, and is now an adult, Ive learned so much from her and continue to enjoy our lessons and the growth in my ability to sing, which seems to come on in leaps after every lesson. Its so much fun! I highly highly recommend her as a singing teacher.

Kiana is an amazing voice teacher/coach… she could easily find ways to help me (trained singer by other coaches) see, hear, and understand what works for my vocal range. She gave me tangible examples of what could work for my piece or my vocal project that I had difficulty achieving. At the end, I was so pleased with my lessons that still to this date I remember and can use. She has tremendous respect for her students and love to see them grow. Thank you Kiana!

Kiana is a great teacher. I was only able to work with her for a few months because I was moving but even in a short time I became much more comfortable with singing. She always has multiple ways of explaining concepts and lots of practical tips for learning them. I had never had any voice lessons before and she was also always incredibly patient with me and very encouraging.

Frequently asked questions

I offer a free 30-minute, obligation-free mini-lesson so that the student and I can get to know each other. Teaching voice is a very intimate process and we want to make sure we are a good match. This way you can really get what you want out of taking lessons!

BM, Vocal Performance, California State University, Fullerton

BA, Theatre Arts, California State University, Fullerton

My pricing system varies based on whether lessons are in person or virtual. My virtual rates are as follows: $30 for 30 min, $40 for 45 min, and $50 for 60 min. My in-person rates are: $40 for 30 min, $50 for 45 min, and $60 for 60 min.

At age 15 I was offered a job as an assitant musical director for a local theater company. The gig didn't pay much and I couldn't stick with it too long because I was still in school but it sparked an immense passion for teaching in me.

I've worked with students of all ages and all levels.

Make sure you really mesh with the teacher. The voice is such a tempermental instrument. Unlike an external instrument (piano, violin, etc...) our voice is a part of us and is affected by everything we do. Our breathing is so intrinsically linked with our sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. If a student doesn't feel comfortable around their teacher, there is only so much they will be able to accomplish.
