About
Based on the number of hires and five star reviews I’m grateful to again be the first choice for those seeking top notch guitar instruction in Indianapolis and surrounding communities for 2024.
In addition to lessons at my studio in Westfield, Indiana I offer instruction to my
clients in their homes. This is a niche service that my competitors for the most part don’t offer. There is no substitute for the personal interaction that occurs when sitting down with an instructor; that alone greatly increases a student’s chances of success.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I assess their current skill level and tailor an individualized teaching plan for each student. I teach reading standard notation and several exercises of my own that are a lot of fun.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BS from Indiana University and 45 years of teaching and playing experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard charge is $50.00 per one hour of instruction.
How did you get started teaching?
I started part time many years ago while I pursued my profession and eventually left that career and began teaching full time.
What types of students have you worked with?
Ages 8 years and older; students with special needs.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Call and chat and get a feeling for the instructor and take at least one lesson and if things click continue with them. Ask for reviews from past students.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Are they willing to commit some time and effort to learning to play? It can be one of the most enjoyable activities, but if a person is not willing to practice their instrument they will not achieve the results they desire.
