What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I find out a student’s playing level. I then find out what they know. I look to find out how a a student learns. I then gets books at your level and the fun begins!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music degree from Catholic University.
I also have a certificate in executive coachong coaching from Georgetown University.
I have over 30 years of experience teaching private music lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching at the age of 14
What types of students have you worked with?
i have taught students age 3 - 89. I have worked with special needs, ADHD, ADD, and autism spectrum students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have students that I have taught from when they were 6 years old all the way through to 18 years of age.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The number one reason people discontinue music is because of the teacher. I create an atmosphere of love, acceptance, patience, understanding, positive reinforcement, listening and giving good advice and flexibility so a student knows and can feel my presence in their life. This makes for a lasting love of music!
