About
I offer personalized lessons for piano, guitar, bass, drums and all percussion instruments. I have been a self-employed musician and teacher since graduating with degrees in music and business in 1998. Recording services available!
I absolutely love the moment when a student has the "light bulb" illuminate and grasps a concept or skill for the first time. I tailor my lessons to each student's individual level of skill and interests, striving to make music fun first, getting the concepts of how it works along the way. I have had so many students surpass me in skill and go on to have many years of enjoyment with their craft.

How did you get started teaching?
After graduating college in 1998 with a music degree, I headed to my local music store to see if they were interested in having me teach drums. They already had a drum instructor but asked if I could play guitar. I said yes; they asked me to play a little bit and so I played "Blackbird" by the Beatles. They hired me on the spot and I've been teaching ever since!
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages and skill levels
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love having my daughters join me at performances and showing off their voices and musical skills
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If you are serious about learning an instrument, buy the best you can afford. A good instrument will inspire you to practice more and be a good investment!
