Steven's Golf
About
"A bad attitude is worse than a bad swing." - Payne Stewart
Hello, my name is Steven Anderson.
I grew up in small Colorado town named Rifle. This small town is where all my golf ambitions took place.
After completing high school I went to California to pursue my dream as a golf professional. This landed me at the Golf Academy of America. While doing my studies I learned about who I am and what I wanted in life through golf. I knew that I wanted to teach and that I have a passion for helping others learn a fun way to play this great game.
Flash forward a few years and I find myself living in Arizona with my wife and first born child. Still pursuing my dream of teaching golf while working on my PGA credentials.
I'd love to get to know you and your golf story so book a lesson with me and lets have fun.
I love seeing my students get better and enjoy the game more!

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching because I have a passion to help others play the game I love.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with a wide range of students everything from beginners who have never held a golf club before all the way up to golf professionals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The most recent event I was so proudly involved in was when my good friend asked me to caddy for him for the last day of his first professional event.
He started out 75-75 for the first two days. Not the ideal start when your trying to see how your game compares with the pros.
The last day he played amazing. We had a great chemistry together and we shot a final round 65! My friend moved up the leaderboard and into a top-5 finish. He now qualified for the California State Open and looks to be well on his way to a promising career.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The game of golf is not going to be learned over night. Nor will it ever be mastered. You have to be able to stay patient and trust the process that YOU are going through.
Find a professional that is easily understandable when your getting the lesson(s).
And finally, dont be so hard on yourself. Remember, you wanted to try this game and thats all it is... a game. So enjoy it.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1) What do they want to acomplish by taking lessons
2) What amount of work are they willing to put into the process
3) Is this something you want to invest both time and money into?
