About
I provide individualized teaching methods to accommodate where each student is in their learning. I try to remain flexible in my scheduling whenever possible. I charge per lesson and do not charge for a missed lesson, although I do encourage makeup lessons. Our first lesson is always complimentary.
What I enjoy most about teaching are seeing my students excited about learning and is sharing my love for the piano in creating music not only for personal enjoyment but for others. To see the personal growth in each student as they advance in their learning is very rewarding and exciting to experience.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with a complimentary meet and greet lesson where the student has an opportunity to decide whether they wish to continue. Books are made available to purchase at this time once a weekly lesson is scheduled.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played piano over 50+ years starting at the young age of 7 with private lessons until I reached the age of 14 at which time I became an accompanist for church choirs and an organist. I attended Grand Canyon University studying music education in my later years. I enjoy seeing the progress of each student and believe in positive reinforcement. I want my students to enjoy their lesson time while at the same time learning to play not only for their own enjoyment but to bring music for others to enjoy.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Weekly lessons are recommended. Monthly payment at the first lesson of each month is appreciated, however, this is negotiable. My fee schedule is $30 per 30 minutes, $45 per 45 minutes and $60 per hour. Makeup lessons are encouraged and scheduled whenever there is a missed lesson. There is an up charge comparable to the amount of travel time to and from for traveling to student homes, if my schedule allows.
How did you get started teaching?
After years of working as an RN and along side my husband in our insurance business, I returned to school to pursue my passion which was the piano. While attending Grand Canyon University, I decided to embark on being a private piano teacher.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught beginners to advanced, ages 5 to adult. Besides teaching privately in my home, I teach over the internet using FaceTime, Skype or Zoom.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My fondest event is when I relocated back to Phoenix after being gone for five years and having three past students return to me for lessons.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who can communicate with your student and who can be an encouragement in his or her learning.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Am I ready to focus on learning?
Am I willing to practice what is assigned at each lesson and complete the necessary theory that goes along with the lesson?
