About
I live to teach. I've taught high school and horsemanship, English literature and English riding.
I use a variety of teaching methods: hands on, philosophical, and analysis, for instance. Always I keep the well being and safety of both horse and rider in mind.
I have ridden as an amateur most of my adult life in the hunter-jumper and dressage worlds. I have shown at the local level all the way to A shows like The Devon Horse Show. Along the I have have taught beginner to low-level jumping lessons.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I work within a student and her horse’s comfort zone. Gradually, as they improve and trust grows among us, I push horse and rider towards the edges of their comfort zone. This is all based on the student’s goals, of course.
An individual lesson will start with a warm-up period of walking and stretching. We'll go on to the heart of the lesson, adjusting for how both horse and rider a are doing that day. We end with a stretching cool down and dialogue assessing what happened in today's lesson.
