About

I started my Music lessons at an early age of 7 in an exclusive Catholic school. Since then, I have been passionate in my talent as a pianist. During my years in elementary and high school, I regularly participated in school performances and also represented the school in regional and national piano competitions bringing pride and glory in my alma mater.

My enthusiasm in music continued to flourish when I went to college. I earned my Diploma in Creative Performance in Musical Arts (DCPMA) at the University of the Philippines, known as the top state university in the country. After finishing my studies in the university, I went to Saudi Arabia in 1994 to 2001. During my stay in the Middle East, I taught Music classes in Junior High of the American & British International Schools of Dhahran. Furthermore, I also gave piano and voice lessons to expatriates based at ARAMCO. I was also given the opportunity to have taught the children of the third Prince of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdallah. Aside from teaching, I was also an active member of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, London (ABRSM). Once a year, I send my students to music examinations held at various places in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain administered by ABRSM. Furthermore, I was also occasionally invited to perform in social and diplomatic gatherings in the area, wherein I had a chance to be the pianist of a New York based Jazz singer, Mr. Wall Street during a gathering of diplomats from the United Kingdom.

After my seven years of stay in the Middle East, I went back to the Philippines in 2001. I then decided to pursue a teaching degree in Music Education. I earned my Bachelors in Music Education, Specialization in Piano in 2005 where I graduated "Cum Laude" at the Conservatory of Music in the Royal Pontifical University of Santo Tomas (UST). My academic excellence as a consistent topnotcher in the deans' list was rewarded through a scholarship grant. I then pursued my graduate school studies in the same university and took Master of Arts in Music Education. While in the graduate school, I was given a job opportunity to teach Music in high school. I was also the adviser/choir conductor of the high school glee club and music ensemble. Also, I handled the Music Rudiments class for the freshmen students of the Conservatory of Music in UST. I was highly regarded by my former professors and colleagues as a dedicated and compassionate student and teacher.

Aside from teaching, I was also active in extra activities in the university. I was a playwright, script writer, theater actress, director and facilitated acting workshops to aspiring theater actors. I wrote a script and directed a play, with myself as one of the main actors too. My script won as the "Best Story" in the inter-collegiate play competition. On the other hand, I was also active in choir singing. My group has represented the country in international choral competitions and has won the "Choir of the World" award in 2007 held at Pattaya, Thailand. Being an active member in the choir, I also devoted my time in Church service, wherein I handled the Music Ministry of my parish church. Also as a volunteer catechist in the church, I taught Catechism and singing to the out of school youth as part of my spiritual service.
