Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I chat with my students to hear what their goals and ambitions are to get a feel for where they would like to take their practice. I then begin to do a clinical overview of the body to check for any natural misalignments and observe their body type. We will work through a thorough practice and discuss after what they liked, disliked, and how the felt after.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a professional dancer of 26 years, a YTRx-500C Yoga Therapist, Kids Yoga Certified, Pre/post natal teacher, NASM Certified Personal trainer. I also hold a BA in Biology and Neuroscience from Marymount Manhattan College NYC.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $115/hr per session.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been teaching movement since I was 14 and fell in love with observing and helping others find their own movement as a form of therapy. I found yoga in 2006 and when I moved to California from NYC in 2014, I was immersed into the capitol of yoga in the US. It's been a non-stop journey of learning and growing and helping more people find their true potential ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
Ive worked with 18 month year olds, kids of all ages, pre and post natal mommys, elderly patients and at law firms for the everyday professional, body builders, dancers and athletes looking to enhance their performance.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently collaborated with an fellow yogi who lead a movement based practice. After the practice I guided everyone through a meditative practice to connect with the quantum field of infinite possibility to create the life we choose to live.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advice being open and discussing your goals and what you would like out of your practice. It is important that you are on the same page as your instructor. Every yoga teacher isn't for everyone. There are a ton of people out here in LA "teaching" yoga but not everyone has the same training and idea of what yoga actually is. Find someone you trust and would enjoy seeing on a weekly basis just like you would choose a friend.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is my motivation to do yoga?
What do I want tto achieve?
Do I have any limitations?
Am I open to learing about parts of myself I may have not knew resided within myself?
