Coach Alex
About
Helping out is in my nature and for the last 5 years i've made tutoring and coaching students part of my personal identity.
I believe that no subject matter is beyond anybody if a positive mentallity and apropriatte tools and methods at our disposal.
Regardin my background, i'm a physics major and envirinmental engineer, my day job consists on consulting businesses and facilitating workshops at schools regarding environmental studies and sustainability issues.
My aproach to tutoring is coaching students in finding their own way of understanding subject matter and step process for logical reasoning and problem solving.
The process. Taking every small step as a victory and the idea that what we do will maybe not affect us now, but it will bring someone or something closer to greatness.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It's gotta feel right. We, the tutors, are not "once size fits all".
There has to be respect to one another. Kindness, patience and tolerance are great indicators. If people want to rush things on to you, or just teach you what they know instead of what you need, then i would advice to look elsewhere, no matterhow well recommended or reviewed he/she may be.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Am i open to suggestions or do i want to reinforce my own way of dealing with learning?
