Carol Yao Piano And Theory Lessons
About
I teach piano because I have a passion for music and teaching. I've professionally performed and competed since high school, but I also started teaching kids then. I am currently studying Piano Performance with Walter Ponce (esteemed Julliard graduate) at the University of California, Los Angeles. I attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music for my pre-collegiate studies.
I've competed in the MTAC San Francisco branch piano competition, East Bay Music Festival, Benmo Rubinyi Piano competition, and I've won first prize in the Bellflower Concerto Competition, and the Beijing Youth Arts Piano division. I passed the MTAC-panel level examination, and I've participated in music festivals in Austria and GuangZhou.
With over 15 years of performance experience, I trust that I'll be able to provide a solid musical foundation in both performance and theory because of my love for the performing arts.
