About

NOTE: I do not teach in person lessons, only virtual.

My top priority as a teacher, is to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for my students. I structures my lesson plans around the individuals needs and maintain flexibility in helping students discover their own unique, musical voice and style. My students have recently placed and progressed forward in competitions such as “The Voice,” “Britain’s Got Talent,” and the “Bermuda Festival Competition (first prize).”

What I enjoy most about the work I do, is sharing my artistic passion with others and helping them to find their own artistic voice and expression. Having an incredible team of mentors and teachers along my journey, I know how important it is to have a safe and encouraging learning environment. Providing a space that allows my students to be vulnerable and comfortable expressing themselves in their music and seeing their artistic growth because of this, continuously inspires me. It's always an honor to be apart of someone's unique artistic process!

Christina is an incredible voice teacher who specializes in working with students on support, breath, and releasing tensions in the face and vocal tract. In her teaching style, she is kind and patient. She works with the student to understand how they learn, thus allowing her to give individualized lessons depending on what the student needs. In my lessons with her, she greatly helped me with isolating my soft palate from the back of my tongue, releasing my tongue tension and working on vowel purity without tension, as well as efficient use of breath. I highly recommend Christina to students of all ages; she is an avid learner and teacher whose passion for music is contagious!

Christina is an excellent instructor with her own beautiful voice. As an older adult who never took any lessons but who loves to sing, Christina helped guide me to improving my tone and support. She gave me great exercises and was always patient with my questions. Thanks to the great foundation she gave me, I am now a regular cantor at church! Thanks so much for your help Christina!

We discovered Christina 3 years ago. Our daughter was 10 and had learning differences and loved to sing, so we thought lessons would be a nice treat. What we didnt expect was for Christina to help our daughter discover her true voice, and over the last three years, incredible opportunities have come to us thanks to all the hard work and lessons. Christina is so great with kids, and now that our daughter is 13, she has shifted her teaching style to more sophisticated concepts and our daughter is even more motivated to grow and learn. When one way of describing a technique isnt working, Christina is patient and changes tack until she can help our daughter understand the vocal concept. We absolutely love Christina and even though the time difference is 4 hours, we make it work because she is such an incredible teacher. We are so grateful to have found her as we had a few bad experiences first. Christina applies all her knowledge from expert teachings around the world and our daughter has benefitted immearsurably.

Christina is a wonderful voice teacher. She has really, really fantastic ears, tuned to details I can barely hear myself, until she shows me the results of a suggested change of this or that. The ability to hear and diagnose, provide suggested remedies, demonstrate, and modify strategies on the fly, these are the techniques that make a voice teacher worth your time and money. I am a working professional, and I still occasionally work with Christina for the opportunity to use her hearing, technique, imagination, and intellect to help me understand something about my instrument that is evading me. The fact that shes cool, really knowledgeable about the rep, and can play piano better than I can -- thats just gravy. Shes great.

Her knowledge of the voice is crazy. She knows all of the ins and outs of the voice. Christina taught me all of the muscles that get my voice going and how that affects what sounds come out. She is patient and just super understanding when I dont understand something. I highly recommend her!

Christina has an exceptionally sensitive ear - she can diagnose vocal issues by listening which is invaluable in any context but especially so in online lessons. Based on her extremely accurate diagnoses, she then makes recommendations based on her extensive knowledge of vocal pedagogy. Shes an excellent teacher!

    Frequently asked questions

When working with a new student, I first ask them what their experience and goals are. If they are comfortable, I ask if they could perform a couple phrases of a song they have worked on, or a scale, so that I may assess where they are at. After getting to know the student a bit better, I contruct a unique curriculum and plan to help them progress and grow. I always try to be as flexibile as possible when working with a new student so that they feel excited, confident, and comfortable experimenting with technique and artistry.

I have studied at the International Vocal Artists Acadeny in Payerbach, Austria, have received an M.M in voice from UCLA, a B.A in music from University of California Santa Barbara, and have been teaching privately and in school settings since 2015.

A few companies I have performed with include Dell'Arte Opera Ensemble, The Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, Russian Theater Arts, the Idyllwild Master Chorale and Orchestra, the Santa Ynez Master Chorale and Orchestra, Repertory Opera Company, and as a chiral singer in the "Final Fantasy Distant Worlds Tour" at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
