About
In a town where talent and creativity abound, it is exciting to discover that "rare find" among the masses. Richard Berman is not just a pianist among thousands in Los Angeles; he is a gifted musician and entertainer...an "artist's artist" as others often refer to him. Having spent fourteen years traveling the high seas performing on "six- star" Crystal Cruises, the world’s most luxurious and prestigious cruise line, Richard has touched hundreds of thousands of fans who have appreciated his talent, his style, and his unique ability to create a memorable experience...each and every time.
Classically trained since the age of five, Richard has never lost sight of the single, most important lesson instilled in him by his concert piano teacher and mentor, the late Dony Bronston: "Make the keys sing" she would say. Clearly Richard took her advice to heart and has made the keys literally sing all over the world. In addition to performing on the Crystal and Princess lines, Richard was an in-house pianist at the following venues: Hotel Bel Air, Bistro Garden, Ma Maison, Above Dublin (Los Angeles, CA), Sheraton Copenhagen (Denmark) and
Black Beards Castle (St. John, Caribbean). Richard has also performed for and / or accompanied Rod Stewart, Connie Stevens, Shirley Jones, Lori Moran, Dale Kristien, Michael Maguire and many other world class singers and entertainers. In September 2006, Richard performed on stage with Marvin Hamlisch and accompanied Broadway star J. Mark McVey (Les Miserables) aboard Crystal Serenity for 1000+ guests.
Richard has taken his gift of music to the next level by adding "songwriter" to his impressive credits. The Stars Above the Stars, a beautiful new ballad performed by Lori Moran in her debut CD titled On My Way To You was composed by Richard (lyrics by Mike Blottenberger) and was performed live, for the first time, in November 2006 at the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood, CA.
Richard has released four CD's to date, all piano solos:The Glory of Love, Strictly Broadway, Movie Magic, and Contemporary Classics.
