Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
1) Film of player's batting, throwing, or fielding required 2 days before meeting coach.
2) Talk with player and guardian about the player's strengths & weaknesses through text.
3) Start to guide the player into drills & routines
4) Give "homework" or things to work on until our next meeting time.
*It is important that the player brings a notebook/ journal to every practice so we can write down homework, talk about what we did good, what we could improve on, and what the player would do out of practice to improve*
A typical practice would look like this:
- short warm-up
-instructional & film analysis
-reps
- additional 5 min *FREE of charge* end of session journal entry time
-2 min Parent / Coach conversation on players practice *FREE of charge*
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Have been apart of the softball & baseball world for 10+ years!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
1 lesson= $50
4 lessons= $170
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages & all skill sets!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Work smarter not harder = train smarter not harder. Use your money in quality coaching and not on trash coaching. It'll go a long way. Know the WHY behind the what. Know your movements while being athletic. Look for coaches that are open to having conversations about fundamentals and movements versus repping things out and doing the wrong movements better. You want to do the right things first.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Would this coach set me up for success? Are we having the same concepts & conversations over and over again? Do they have their best interest for me?
