About

Private acting coach

Private coaching sessions can be helpful for working actors in need of assistance with an audition, or the developing of a character for an up coming project. Writers and directors have also used private sessions to help fine tune a script and/or sharpen their ability to communicate with talent.

Coaching sessions can also be used to help beginners. Acting classes can be difficult with a busy schedule and a bit intimidating at first, but are eventually a must if the actor is to move forward.

Online acting coach

One-on-one acting lessons and coaching sessions with Kirk Baltz are now available to students around the world. He maintains a flexible schedule and is able to accommodate time zone differences in most instances.

These sessions are for beginning, intermediate and advanced students...those just starting, actors who have already begun to study and actors working and auditioning. If you need some help with that audition you just got, give a call and get grounded.

Online coaching sessions are usually done with SKYPE

Private coaching rates...hourly and daily for on location and on set, are available upon request.

Our "work" as actors is rooted in speaking out the TRUTH when it needs to be spoken. I for one need CONSTANT support to do this. Community. It's too damn easy to sit here and lie, deny and become complacent. Trust me...I too slip into this abyss at times and need to reach out and grab on to the TRUTH to be pulled back up and out. We all fight to do the best we can on a daily basis. Some days yes, we're better at it than others.

Our world will not change unless we are willing to make sacrifices and fight for what we believe in. Our work as ARTISTS will not change unless we commit and take the same necessary risks.

It has been my experience as an actor that when I prepare and stay plugged in with fierce determination, great opportunities come to fruition and I am ready. When I sit back and wait with complacency not much happens. The universe gives according to the sacrifices we make accumulatively...there needs to be consistency.

Ive been fortunate to know Kirk for over a year now, and have only profited from his outstanding knowledge, technique and support. Participating in both, workshops and private sessions, I got to know so much desirable insight, which Kirk happily shares, and ultimately evolved a lot as an actor as well as a person.
I strongly recommend him, best coach Ive worked with so far !

From Kirk, I learned to be comfortable exploring scenes in collaboration with directors and actors. Working with him, for the first time in my career, I understood that I didnt need to have all of the answers in advance, and that the most dynamic and exciting moments in acting can occur on set, from the give-and-take between two actors. Kirk puts all around him at ease, letting it be known that acting is not about passing or failing, but rather, the pursuit of truth in a safe environment. I highly recommend his class, both to actors and to directors.

As Head of a Drama Department, I have brought Kirk to the UK for the last seven years to work with my students. Weve adopted a three / four day model in which Kirk has time to introduce and explore some of the techniques central to his approach to Acting. Feedback from my students is always exemplary. All find the work challenging, both physically and mentally, but Kirks enthusiasm and passion for his subject means they all engage and want to give their best. Kirk pushes where necessary and pulls back back when required - he is extremely sensitive to the needs of each student in his class and has proven time and time again his ability to accurately assess each student within a relatively short time and he adjusts his teaching accordingly. I have no doubt that every student who has worked with Kirk has benefited from their time with him and only wish they could have longer. In fact, many return the following year to start taking the work further. I have had students accepted into drama school who are positive Kirks advice contributed to their successful audition work and others who have used his work for examination pieces to help deepen and enrich their performance. Of all trek opportunities I offer students in my care, my relationship with Kirk is one of the most valuable and I would encourage any teacher to develop this relationship to bring a dynamic new element to their subject delivery.

Working with Kirk was a true blessing. The exploration and play that he encouraged was challenging yet welcome. He helped me unwind and gave me some tools that provided me with more to put on my canvas as an actor. I booked a SAG movie right after that workshop.

Kirk is a thoughtful teacher. He looks at his students as individuals and offers an intensive program that teaches techniques and helps develop specific skills while empowering his students to discover their internal strengths. My teenager son learned a lot during Kirks intensive acting workshops. He learned to listen to his fellow actors and be guided by his internal instincts.
