Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Identify your position and then do drills appropriate for your position.
Make sure that we have a good connection and are on the same page.
I like to show my students videos on the iPad to help them understand reasons for the drills we are performing.
Depending on the age of the student, I also like to help the parent/gaurdian understand what we are going to practice as well. I believe education should contuine away from the session to gain the best results.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have coached at Rhyl FC academy where I took my teams to play against the likes of Manchester City, Everton FC, Blackburn and numerous others.
I have a UEFA C Certificate which has helped me to understand the game more from a coaching perspective.
I have played soccer nearly my whole life and have been taught by some amazing coaches who themselves have very high standards and education in the game.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing is done hourly and depending on ages.
For example:
3-8 years old $35 p/hr
9-14 years old $45 p/hr
15+ $55 p/hr
How did you get started teaching?
I started when I found my love of helping people get better at whatever they needed help with.
I always thought about what would happen when I was too old and fat to play soccer anymore so I thought that I would go through my coaching certifications so I could always be involved in soccer as it really is my biggest passion.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages, from 2 years old all the way to 45 years old. Obviously the session varey on the ages and ability of the student but none the less they all come out enjoying it and wanting more.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
For me, it is the womens USA team who deserve way more credit than they are getting as they are doing so much for soccer in the USA.
They inspire your girls and boys to become the best they can be and their accilaids prove that from winning 4 World Cups and 4 Gold medals in last 6 Olympic Games!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When hiring any teacher that is there to help you out, make sure you both have a connection as this helps massively. It doesn’t even feel like you’re being coached when you have a great connection between teacher and student because you’re both in clear unstanding of each other and each other’s needs.
We put the work in off the field and you will 100% reep the rewards!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I am an open book, you can ask me anything to do with soccer and I will always do my best to answer in a way you understand.
There is no such thing as a stupid question when it comes to learning.
