Step 2 is an assessment session to determine current fitness level, measurements, strength and flexibility, cardiovascular ability, body composition, posture, dietary recall forms for nutrition and weight loss. Step 3 is the design of your individualized training plan. Then decide how frequent you would like to train with a coach, in person, by phone or online. Aside from formal education, Bachelor's and Masters degrees, I am a certified strength coach, run and cycle coach, ACSM health/fitness instructor, Stott Pilates trained instructor, corective exercise specialist and sport psychology certificate.

How did you get started teaching?
I was an athlete from age 10 through college. After attaining my Kinesiolgy degree from Cal Poly I began in-home training, group training, and taught at a community college part time for 20+ years.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with clients from high school age to late 70's. Mostly late 40's to early 70's. Most have a strong goal they want to achieve, are dedicated and consistent.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise looking for a professional fitness trainer working full time in the industry. Professional meaning has attained formal education in a sport related field. A masters degree shows a fully committed individual. Your health is important. There are tons of part time trainers who may look fit, are fit, but my lack the proper training to assist others with special needs.
