White Dragon Of Temecula
About
White Dragon excels at teaching self-defense, by working one-on-one with students, as well as offering various group classes daily. Progression is based on skill and knowledge developement. For some, it may be just a few months to the next level, others might take a bit longer. The harder you train the quicker you will advance. Your own personal instructor, will not only teach you the required material to progress, but help you set up a workout routine that meets your goals. White Dragon was established in La Mesa, California in 1985. In 2003, the first White Dragon outside San Diego County was opened in Temecula, CA. Our main focus is teaching self-defense and Tai Chi Chuan. From stand up fighting, to ground fighting, to weapons training. We have you covered.
For many people, training in martial arts is more then just learning self-defense. For many, it is developing discpline and respect. For others, it is a way to get fit while also developing life long habits and skills. And for some, martial arts training is a way to cope with stress in their busy lives. As we age, it is easy to become sedentary, but with martial arts, especially Tai Chi, you can continue doing something as our bodies age and things start to limit us. It is very common to find people in their 70's and older in Tai Chi Classes.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students start by doing a one-on-one lesson, so they can experience our unique teaching approach. Followed by a week of group classes. Afterwards, we will sit down with you and discuss the different options and classes that you want to continue with. You can focus on self-defense, kickboxing (sport and fitness), or Tai Chi. Or like many students, develop a curriculum that covers it all.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our staff have been hand selected from our student body. After years of showing significant improvement and understanding of their martial arts, they are put through an instructor training program that teaches them how to teach at our schools. Only after passing this class (which can take up to 12 months of just learning how to teach), can they take on a student. Our philosopy is, that we are always students, and are always learning and refining our own skills. Even after 30 years in the field, there is always something new to learn.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We have several different types of programs, so prices will vary. On average, students pay about $175 a month for unlimited group classes and private lessons. A little more than the average martial arts school, that does not include one-on-one training.
How did you get started teaching?
We have many instructors in our organization. Many got started in martial arts to learn self-defense. Others got started with Tai Chi for the meditative benefits. And other started because of the health & fitness benefits of the training. Why do you want to train in martial arts? Come try some lessons and see what is right for you.
