Lab Photoworx offers a variety of photography classes and workshops for students all ages. Choose from foundational skills such as Intro to Darkroom: Film Developing, Intro to Darkroom: The Print, The Camera, The Lens, to digital skills such as Intro to Lightroom, Photoshop for Photographers, Digital Processing: Black & White, Digital Processing: Color, The Digital Print: Black & White Inkjet, The Digital Print: Color Inkjet, Studio Lighting and Printer Maintenance. Classes are held in our Echo Park Studio (1650 Echo Park Ave., Suite 105, LA, CA 90026) relaxed and fun, and focus on learning by doing through hands-on projects and exercises. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We like to start with the student’s are of interest and then create a lesson plan that supports those interests. For instance, if a student is interested in black and white Darkroom technique, we would stay mostly in the analog photography realm, with perhaps a primer on digital negatives and maybe film scanning.It all depends on how ambitious the student is and how far they want to take their learning.
