Ki Yoga
About
Teaching yoga since 2011, I have taught classes in the yoga studio and gyms, at resorts, in corporate offices, juvenile centers and country clubs. I have taught to at-risk youth, celebrities, varying kinds of athletes, individual’s suffering with physical and psychological illness and to advanced and beginning yogis. Recognized by lululemon athletica as an exceptional yoga instructor, I have been a lulu ambassador since March of 2016.
I combine nearly twenty years of practice and studies in several varying modalities to create the unique form of yoga I teach: Ki Yoga. With the intent of creating physiological and psychological wellbeing, Ki Yoga is based upon a keen understanding of functional anatomy and subtle energy to holistically address the overall person.
In addition to working with private clients and group classes, I’m also co-founder and Lead Instructor of Satyam Yoga Teacher Training. A 200-hour training program aimed at bringing unique, informed new teachers into the world.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Generally, we have a conversation to discuss goals and previous experience. It takes some time to learn a client so over the course of a few sessions I get to learn who they are, what their body needs and is capable of and I sculpt our sessions accordingly.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing is based on how large the group is, how far I need to travel for the appointment and the frequency or number of appointments scheduled.
How did you get started teaching?
I started practicing in college at the age of 18. After ten years of practice, I decided to take a teacher training and the rest is history. Yoga changed my life from a very young age and continue to do so everyday. It's a gift I feel fortunate to bring to the world.
What types of students have you worked with?
Nearly every student imagineable. Please see bio for full explanantion.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Only yesterday a student approached me privately to share how meaningful my classes are to her. I'm fond of any experience where I get to deliver a service that can change people's lives for the better.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Always have one session together to confirm the partnership is a fit before signing on to work together on a regular basis. Yoga is subjective and not all people work well together. By having the initial session, both student and instructor can see if it's a good fit.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I suggest getting clear on what your goals and limitations are. When this can be articulated to the teacher, they can better meet those needs.
