Universities, arts high school, music middle school, Talented in the Arts music programs, and my private studio -- all these areas make up my teaching experience. I am especially equipped to work with musically and intellectually gifted students, but I have successfully taught many "average" students. Flexibility is my highest priority: working with each student where he is and using what works with him. Currently I am teaching both children (age range 6 - 11) and adults (age range 18 - 85).

My training is mostly in classical music, but I like to use a variety of genres and styles -- again, based on the interests of the respective students. I am not committed to any particular method.

I am not a concert pianist but have worked as a dance accompanist and church musician. I am a composer and arranger and can teach these skills, from songwriting to orchestral scores.

When a prospective student gets in touch with me, I begin by scheduling a meeting (with student or family), at no cost, to discuss goals, procedures and scheduling. If our communication indicates that we are a good fit, then we will begin lessons.
