About
We are just different, we have been there, and we are not going to blow smoke up your but to get you to sign up. Some things are going to be hard. There is no magic pill or dance that can be done to get you to the top. It takes time and dedication. If you are dedicated, we will match your dedication.
After my career ended, I thought that it was going to be that I have one more left. It's not the case every single person I work with I jump on board your journey. Your wins your losses, the more you learn, the more you grow, and I get to be apart of those lessons and help you overcome those small pieces that made whatever it was that was hard for you to fix or change. We will figure out and change it. Hard work pays off—time to make you a champion in your own eyes or the public eye, or both.

How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching in 1995 before I was Licensed as a professional in 1996. It was how I was able to pay for daily life in between fights; back before that, you didn't have to have all the paperwork and degrees that are required nowadays, But I loved what I did. I had opened a gym, so I continued to propel both my careers in 1998, I moved to the Netherlands for 4 years, Rotterdam to be specific, to train and compete and live life around the world and teach the arts as well as sports performance and personal training I was able to work with a few teams and individuals from a few different sports and was able to continue to do what I loved there. Skip now to the end of the fighting career. I decided to get all the paperwork as well as degrees to back all the experience. Yes, all the experience is great, but it does not really matter to the average person from what experience has shown me. So to this day, I love what I do, And instead of just being stuck in my career or what I have done, I am involved in 100's of careers, and that is everything to me now.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds of people in all areas from kids physical education and seminars on weight loss for kids and using martial arts as physical anger management that been appointed by the court systems, I have worked with the pop warner kids ( parents that want their 5-16-year-old superstars) I have worked with Jr High athletes then gone into High School Athletes In All sports been hired by parents to help get there kids to the next level. Then I've dealt with people of all ages from 10-90 years old in martial arts and boxing College athletes All sports football, baseball, soccer, basketball, softball, Volleyball beach, and indoor, Cheer. I have worked with Professional Baseball, football, fighters in all areas (boxing, kickboxing, MMA, even the Point Fighters.) And on to Law Enforcement and Military getting ready for tests or extra training or just getting in. and then who can forget the older population with their Golf or just staying in shape or recovering from heart issues getting back to normal life. I'm sure I'm missing an age group or sport in here, but I have worked with every kind of person, young and older, for just about every sport and just the normal joe who wants to get in shape.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We have so many Victorys, so many great stories, so many accomplishments by my clients and students, I'm not sure I can really name one, teams winning games, people losing that last pound, someone deadlifting that extra 10 lbs going over 500lbs or over 80lbs People earning titles people getting their hands raised people standing on podiums, the sheer joy on people faces when they have busted their butts to get that self victory or victory in general. I am very proud or happy for these moments that even if I am a small part of that athlete or person's victory, I can also include myself as a victory for myself I never tell anyone that but hard work always pays off.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell someone to do their research, find out about the person, ask for their paperwork, ask for their credentials, ask if they are still licensed, ask questions, give yourself a reason to spend the money; good coaches, good trainers are not cheap. You wouldn't buy a car without knowing what it's done. There is so much excuse me for saying but bull shit out there. Everyone has, is, knows, been, done something that is better than everyone else but push come to shove, they run the same cookie-cutter program or give you bogus weight loss or weight gain advice or gives you some nonsense training program to get you better at your sport with no specific training involved or can never show you just how or why you should do something the why is always important. Why is it more important than any aspect? Why am I doing this? Why will it make me better? I have seen so many trainers and athletic trainers give the worst advice on all avenues, from nutrition to training specifics makes no sense to me.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would say figure out what you are lacking in being honest with yourself. If it is sports performance Know your role know what your assignments are. We cannot make you better if you don't understand your own role. You cannot do anything. You are one player. Unless it's combat sports, then really be honest with your self and make sure if it is combat sports, let your head coach know that you are hiring a strength and conditioning coach. I will be happy to give weekly reports to your head coach. I would say know that we don't work miracles and we cannot teach heart. You need to learn that on your own. But we can fix all the other needs within reason.
