I offer 10+ years of teaching experience with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities. I have a foundation in classical music, studying classical guitar and composition in music school, but have spent all my professional energy in popular music- playing in bands, writing albums, organizing student recitals, and touring.
I love helping people. Music-learning is so much more than just learning an instrument or figuring out how to play a song. It's about growing who you are as a person, and I love helping people help themselves.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I find out where they want to go first. A lot of times new students have a direction they want to head: learning songs, playing a specific style, etc. I then design a course we can follow together to get them there. A lot of times there's a physical barrier. You need to get fingers working! So, we take things as slow as the student need, or as fast. Sometimes a student doesn't have a direction and I help carve one out. We always start with basics and I move along according to the pace of the student.
