About
I am a retired commercial photographer who has sucessfully gone through all the formats and genres of photography. Whats really important to me is how to develop communication between your ambitions and skill level to help you acheive your goals in image making. What is your goal in photography? How do we wrap our skills around your equipment? All along bringing in the elements of art, composition, technical perfection and the fun of image making.
Everything about my work is joyous. Being able to visualize and hen finding the image is only part of the process. Technical acheivement and beautiful prints fulfills the process.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A discussion to understand all the basics, your skill level, ambitions, technical expertise and what motivates you. Then we can work on the basics of composition, light and dark spaces and how to achieve the purpose of your image for different genres. For instance, street photography, advertising, social media content, journalism, fine art etc. Equipment evaluation and learning the ins and out of your gear. Being a great photographer needs mastering some basics. And yes we can statr shooting immediately.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started my photography career in college as the official football team photographer. Later I got my break in the movie business by working as a stage hand on TV commercials perfecting lighting and composition for broadcast advertising. From there I attended the Maine Photo Workshop where I received hands on training in film, processing and composition. From there I started my own commercial business that brought me into all the genres involved as a professional high end photographer.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I am retired this would not be a money maker for me. I charge 35 an hour because I am more interested in helping new photographers learn and enjoy their passion for creating mages and can work with you in fine tuning your equipment and consulting with you as you progress in your art.
