Catherine Montondo Yoga
About
What inspires me about teaching yoga is to see the same glow, the same calm, the same sense of empowerment as I have gained progressively rise up in my students. They come in tired, scattered, floppy and leave upright, smiling and anchored.
My goal in teaching is to give students the tools to journey on this vitalizing, empowering and enlightened life state for their bodies, hearts and minds.
I give collective as well as one-on-one classes in all settings - not only in a room on a mat, but on beaches, in yards and gardens, in the woods, on the street - on bare surfaces without a mat.
I have been avidly practicing yoga for 10 years and received my 200-hour teaching certificate from Kooteny Yoga School in Fébruary 2022 and my 300 hour teaching training from Kootenay in August 2022.
I am based in Brussels, Belgium and regularly travel to and work in LA.
I teach in English and French.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I share with the student who I am, what inspires me to teach them, my qualifications and experience. I ask them what they wish to gain from the yoga practice with me and what kind of results they'd like to see in their lives as a result of what I offer them.
I find out what issues they may have that I need to be attentive to - injuries or health issues (blood pressure, glaucoma, dizziness...) - so that I can either adapt the practice for a private class or offer alternatives in a group class setting.
I share the kind of sequences and levels I teach and dialogue with the student, if private, so as to tailor the classes to their needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified Bates Method instructor for natural eye sight improvement as well as a certifed breath coach.
