About
Head Coach Adam Burt of Crush Tennis specializes in teaching the "new" basics to beginners and intermediates of all ages. He has been a certified Professional 1 instructor by the USPTA for the last 24 years. His passion is the science behind the technical part of the game. Adam has been teaching tennis for 26 years, starting as a Junior Tennis specialist at Mountaingate Country Club. Then coaching the Williams sisters for a brief period in 1993 at Dominguez park in Carson, California. Finally arriving in Hermosa Beach where he has taught for the last 22 years.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If they have prior experience I evaluate what they already have. With true beginners, we just start with the basics.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified with the USPTA which is the best association for tennis instructors.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Fees for privates, semi-privates or self made groups are:
1 player - $70/hr
2 players - $35/hr each
3 players - $25/hr each
4 or more players - $20/hr each
How did you get started teaching?
I started as an assistant coach to an experienced, certified professional.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently taught a 6 year old beginner who was clinging to his parents, and didn't want to play. By the end of the 30 minute lesson he was playing tennis with me!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Go with a USPTA certified instructor.
