About
Hi!
I am a guitarist that plays in a professional group named "Blueseason" based in Riverside, CA. I am also a music major at UC Riverside! I have been teaching lessons and classes for several years, and absolutely love teaching my students and learning from them at the same time. I also love getting to know my students well, and assisting them in other musical endeavors that can range from performance, to equipment and stage set-up. My background is centered around Jazz, funk, blues, RnB, rock, and pop.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start off getting to know the student's skill level through a couple of exercises, as well as where there head is when it comes to music. By that I mean, why the play, what they like to listen to, and the role of music in their life.
I then would usually give a listening assignment based on my observations and discuss it with the student. From there, we proceed based on where the student's skill level is at, and what they would like to learn. I prefer to give students an open space to learn whatever song or technique they would like. I also emphasize musicianship, so will always include ear training and rhythm practice.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching music classes and lessons for several years. I will also receive my BA in music this June 2020.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with a large variety of folks, ranging from the ages of 9 to older, married folks with families. I have also worked with individual students and held full family sessions. Most of the interests of my students were centered around blues or popular music.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Meet the teacher at least once before you set a long-term commitment with them. Make sure that you and your teacher get along as people, because trust me, if you don't get along as people, it will be very difficult to get along as musicians.
