About
Hello I'm Kiki & work as a senior coach at a swim school in the SGV in the afternoons as well as coach the swim team we have there & offer private lessons on my own. When I am not coaching the team I'm the assistant manager while running our regular classes which include from young children, to teenagers to adults & elderly.
Currently based out of Los Angeles.
I specialize in working with kids ages 3-12.
Group Classes (Max 2 new swimmers per class):
Children of all ages enjoy side by side learning whether it's a sibling, cousin, friend, parent or even grandparent.
Parent & Child Joint Classes:
Many students have signed up together with their parent & I have had the pleasure of helping many mom's and dads who often don't know how to swim due to a bad past experience in the water learn right alongside their kids & eventually love & enjoy the water.
I have been at home in the water & swimming since age 4 & teaching others to no longer fear the water & enjoy how therapeutic swimming can be is something I love to do & I do it with passion.
What I teach:
- Emphasis on water safety and survival
- Breathing work & technique
- How to float on your face & back
- Basic swim strokes
1) Freestyle (Front Crawl)
2) Backstroke (Back Crawl)
3) Butterfly
4) Breastroke (Frog)
My classes are a minimum of 45 minutes, unless you are interested in booking a group of 3+ swimmers where we can split the lessons into 30 minutes each.
I am fully vaccinated again COVID-19 & can provide my vaccine card as proof.
I specialize in working with kids, and as a very shy kid growing up, it has become my passion to befriend and coach even my most anxious & shy kids as I remember first hand just how much patience I needed from my teachers. I've had every kind of personality from the loud, rambunctious and eager to swim to the crying upon sight of the pool & I manage to make enthusiastic students of every one.
My 5 and under- schoolage crowd are particularly big fans of mine, as I am a big kid myself and no matter how fussy or terrified of the water one of my students come to me, we are laughing, getting more relaxed, building trust & having fun within minutes. My classes are upbeat, high energy and will allow you &/or your child to push yourself as far as you want to each time. I am always encouraging my students to do their best every class & challenge themselves. With that in mind every student, and their experience with water is unique, so I am very patient, understanding & skilled at gauging what pace is appropriate per student on a case by case basis. My classes will have students tackling and accomplishing real goals while gaining confidence doing a rewarding physical activity all while having fun.
I have plenty of experience working with students who are scarred from near drowning experiences, as well as very nervous, unsure and panicky students who require extra time to feel comfortable. I want to assure anyone who feels uncertain about the water that I completely understand and never rush my students to do anything they cannot handle at their own pace. Swimming is scary to many at first but with practice & the right attitude, I promise it is definitely worth learning & I am willing to guide you through every step of the way. The pride I see in my students & feel for them & their progress once they've conquered the water is what I find so fulfilling & what keeps me teaching.
