Kelly Derouin Yoga Teacher
About
I bring a positive playful attitude to each of my classes. I want my students to experience the joy of being in their bodies and progressing in their practice. I am a Yoga Alliance RYT-200 and have been practicing yoga for 9 years. I am also a working actor here in San Diego so I bring my theatrical experience to yoga as well. I love to encorage freedom and self-expression in others. I teach Vinyasa Flow, Power Yoga, Restorative, and Yoga for kids!
I began delving into the practice of yoga 9 years ago while I was studying Musical Theatre at California Lutheran Unversity. Yoga was initially a way fro me to stay in shape, increase my breath capacity for singing, and sharpen my concentration for acting. However the practice transformed me in ways I never expected. It not only altered my perception of myself and my body, but shifted my entire world view, brought me peace, and a greater purpose. Motivated by the desire to connect and share this with others, I achieved my Yoga Alliance RYT-200 certification at Pilgrimage of the Heart Yoga in San Diego. I'm honored to share this transformative practice with students of every background.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask them what their experience with yoga is, if they have any injuries or conditions that they are working with, and also what their personal goals are for their practice. This gives us a good starting point.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am Yoga Alliance RYT-200 and I am also CPR and First Aid certified.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
For private sessions I charge $60/hr.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been practicing yoga for 9 years. When my friends or family would complain to me about aches and pains, I found myself giving them advice and prescribing yoga poses for them to try. After a while I thought, this might be my calling.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a range of beginner and advanced students, that age from 5 to 60+.
