About
I am a working, professional performer with formal training who seeks to empower people with their own best qualities and build upon their least best qualities.
We build independent artists, work with independent artists, and promote independent artistry.
Creating and reflecting is a spiritual and therapeutic experience. It allows us as performers to honestly feel and be changed and implores viewers and listeners to see these perspectives and change for the better. To tell stories one way or another to the world is to have a voice that must be heard.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For new students, the beginning steps are about setting the environment and us getting to know each other on a level that allows me to understand who you are as an artist. This includes diving into warmups (for both singers and actors), and making sure you're not only comfortable to perform around me, but also that you're prepared to do so.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While I was born and raised singing in church, I began studying music in the 5th grade at August Knodt in Stockton, CA (a Manteca Unified school). Throughout elementary and Jr. High, I was in band and choir. I continued through East Union High School in Manteca, CA and added on theatre and piano. After high school, I studied Musical Theatre at the American Musical and Dramatics Academy then, finally, Acting for the Camera and Modeling at John Casablancas Acting and Modeling Schools.

How did you get started teaching?
I was good at math and began tutoring my siblings and then at an after school program around Jr. High age. Then at church I would be over the choir and have to teach parts by ear. On and off, I'd worked with people younger than me throughout high school, but when music departments started slowing down due to budget cuts, I would help some music teachers with beginners. I guess I just had a knack for teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
Primarily, I've worked with beginning and intermediate level students. That's usually due to other colleagues not wanting to. Although I have much patience, I love working with all levels. Even Povarotti took lessons until the day he died.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
At the end of December 2018, I had shoulder surgery. Before I knew I'd have the surgery, I'd already committed to doing two shows that were overlapping, but coincidentally the same show playing the same role but with different companies and casts. So upon having the surgery, I was in recovery in two heavily dancing and singing show, gaining weight because I couldn't move as much and I had unknowingly contracted laryngitis. In a show of 40 songs where I was in 20+ of them singing first tenor, this was tragic!! I had to revert to my basic training of singing and dancing, hone in on those skills and teachings, and trust that production teams and my casts would help and trust me. Between them, my doctors, and properly taking care of my voice and body, I was able to put on the best performances of my entire career without falling to shreds. Plus, I made some awesome friends!
