About

Christiana Findley Coaching specializes in helping creatives establish positive habits and routines so they can better manage their time and energy to move forward, and build the life they want. Focuses on: 1. Foundations 2. Habit formation 3. Goal setting 4. Accountability My practices revolve around self-discovery, goal setting, addressing and working with blocks, and creating systems (that are tailored specifically for you) so that you can get to where you want to be. The method I use is structured but flexible. There is an agenda for every session but I will always meet you where you are. If there are topics that we need to address before moving on, we do that first, always. After every session, you will have actionable steps to utilize and add on to your game plan.

Before starting a coaching practice I was in education (taught secondary) for about a decade. I have a background in helping students learn and retrain information as well as helping them build new skills and critically think.

Towards the end of my teaching career I received my life coaching certification from an ICF accredited institution (I was also coaching teachers on their classroom management (♡ systems)), and years later opened my own practice.

This will be work, but exciting work! If you're ready to put the work in, I'm ready to be your coach.

What I love most about what I do is being able to help people actually make progress in what they are wanting AND needing to achieve so that they can live a life that invites more freedom and fulfillment.

Recently I worked with a new entrepreneur. They were a single parent of two beautiful kids and had left their career job to start their own business. Without revealing too much, this person went from not knowing what to prioritize and commit to, feeling overwhelmed by every decision (understandably), feeling alone and letting doubt run the show (which tanked their productivity) -to- creating time and managing their energy to get stuff done, actively reengage in their community, create a sense of self-leadership, and successfully launch their product. Currently they are still up and running, running their business and creating a life that invites more freedom and fulfillment in their life. This process took about 3.5 months with a session every week + unlimited out of session support.

Most of my clients come to me feeling stuck, wanting to improve their situation, but not knowing exactly how to get started or where they want to go.

I help them gain clarity around all of it and take intentional, aligned action. It's a collaboration in making things happen in the way that feels right for them (which is empowering in itself).

Typically throughout the process mental shifts are made, clients create tangible evidence, and gain a deeper sense of self as they continue their journey in self-discovery. I absolutely love the process.

Over 18 powerful weeks of being coached by Christiana, I got clearer on what life areas needed goal and habit work. I got better at making decisions, picking priorities, and breaking big things down into action steps. I learned more what methods help me actually do action steps. Gradually I saw new habits and routines form. I feel more strategic and effective now at running my day and focusing my time and energy in healthy ways that serve me well.

Christiana taught me more in one school year than anyone has in all of my nine years of teaching. She is
a phenomenal classroom manager. She takes individual teaching styles and personalities into account
and stresses that no two teachers teach alike. It was important that she helped me find what works for
    me!
Before Christiana came into my life, I had extremely poor knowledge of implementing strong classroom
management in my class. I had also never incorporated strict procedures. The first thing she asked was,
“what do you want your classroom to look like?” What is important to me might not be important to
another teacher. She helped rearranged my room so that procedures could be run smoothly and
effectively. She truly believes that teachers take ownership of their rooms and do the steps necessary
to make their classrooms run the way they want them to.
In our year together as Art teachers at a junior high school, we became very good friends. I didn’t feel
like I was working with “the competition”. I felt like I could go to her with questions or concerns and she
would give me well thought-out advice or suggestions. She is extremely thoughtful.
I will use the best practices that she taught me the rest of my career and her knowledge was invaluable.
I am such a better teacher now because of her.

    Frequently asked questions

Typically with a new client we hop on a 10-minute call to discuss what they are looking for in a coach and what they are wanting to work on. I offer a 10-week program for new clients that includes the foundational work needed for when we start to tackle larger goals. If it sounds like the new customer already has the foundational pieces in place, then we build from there and customize the number of sessions they anticipate they will need to achieve their goals. If we seem like a good fit and decide to work together, we set up the first official session (day and time) and take it from there.

Towards the end of my teaching career I received my life coaching certification from an ICF accredited institution (I was also coaching teachers on their classroom management (♡ systems)), and years later opened my own practice.

Each session ranges between 45 - 90 minutes. The rate is $85 a session with unlimited out of session support in between sessions.

The first 30-minute call is free (complimentary consultation).

I also offer a partial scholarship every three months to clients that are in need which means, I severely discount my services for the 10-week program I offer. Clients that qualify for the scholarship are new to coaching and are typically: 1. New business owners - that are needing help with accountability and follow-through in launching their product/service. 2. Freshly graduated students - that need extra support with their next steps (and are looking to go into a creative field). 3. Educators - who are in need of support with their personal and professional systems. Curious if you qualify? Let's chat and see what we can work out.

Before stepping into the world of coaching I received my degree in the Arts and was in education for about a decade. I loved teaching. Connecting with students, watching their eyes light up as they improved in their technical skills, and their ability to express themselves felt priceless. I was happy and fulfilled until I realized I wanted to do more. My breakthrough moment that led me into the coaching world, and ultimately coaching creatives with their personal systems, was the day I was helping a colleague with their classroom management. We were going over how things were turning out since our last conversation. I remember her saying something along the lines of “I’ve been in the classroom for nine years and I can’t believe that this is working, but it is!” We talked about how her overall anxiety had subsided and how pleased she was with her results. We continued to work on her systems and by the end of the year, she was in a better place emotionally and mentally. She even had the energy to start to exercise again. Systems, routines, positive habits, and having the right mindset/attitude to help us in our everyday life is powerful. I knew this and had successfully implemented my version of it for myself (thanks to the help of my then therapist and my coach), but didn’t think about helping others design and implement these things for themselves until that day. Years later I received my coaching certification, opened up a practice, and have since added countless hours of coaching under my belt. I continue to learn, up-level my skills, and grow (operating from a growth mindset is important to me). With this experience, I have come to not only love helping teachers create positive change in their lives, but also people that are introspective, intuitive, and have a desire to share something meaningful with the world.

The type of clients I work with are creative types (and not just artists, designers, and writers- but all types of creative thinkers). They value authenticity and are deep thinkers who like to examine how they navigate the world. They think of themselves as resourceful, and enjoy mapping out their next steps. They value both their intuition and analytical thinking when making tough decisions and wholeheartedly take chances when it feels right. They are passionate, and most of all, they want to share their ideas, their products, what brings them joy and strive to create a positive impact for themselves and those around them. These are the people I work with. ♡ And my goal is to help these people get clear with what they want, create positive habits and personal systems (structure) that enable them to accomplish what matters most to them.

I would advise you to do your research and interview many coaches. For this work to be impactful and truly transformational, it is going to be important that you feel comfortable with your coach enough to be honest with yourself, honest with them, and willing to be challenged (which all require some level of vulnerability). It is 100% okay not to hire a coach after a first-time consultation because there wasn't a connection. Keep looking to find the right match for you. Ask questions! We all operate from different values, so asking questions to understand what your coach's values and world view are is important.

Here are some questions I go through for myself before hiring my own coach: 1. What am I actually trying to achieve? (In other words, what about what I am doing is needing outside support?) 2. What kind of coach am I looking for when working on this specific thing? 3. Do I actually have the time, energy and resources to hire someone right now? Will it take away more than add value? 4. What kind of coach am I absolutely NOT looking for? 5. Is it really coaching that I'm needing right now? Is it more in the realm of therapy? Or am I looking to learn a new skill so instead maybe I should be looking for a mentor or consultant? Hope that helps! ♡
