About
Hi! Welcome to JG Golf Instruction. My name is Jeanette Gilliand and I am an LPGA Life Member. I have been teaching over 25 years. I was selected as Golf For Womens Top 50 Instructors in the country. My goal is for my students to have an understanding of what to do and how to do it, in order to execute the deisired shot. I use Swing Coach software that allows me to analyze your swing and send it to you via text or email for your review. Students will always leave with a hand written note card on what was discussed and what needs to be worked on prior to the next lesson. I do not teach a method but the individual, I like to keep the instruction as simple as possible in order for you to have as much fun as possible!
I enjoy helping people of all ages and abilities obtain their goals. I receive tremendous satisfaction knowing I have communicated in a manner in which the student is able to identify the problem at hand and can self correct. Your game is my game and I want people to enjoy it for a life time.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to spend 45 minutes to an hour with a new student. It gives me an opportunity to interview the client relative to playing experience, goals, physical limitations and equipment compatiability. I like to watch the student hit about 10 balls, then video tape, then discuss the basic principals that need to take place in order to develop a more consistant golf swing. I want to be sure the client understands our objective and we move forward to accomplish these goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been an LPGA Member for 29 years. In that time I have done countless hours of continuing education persuant to maintaining my status as an LPGA Member. Classes included, nutrition, clubfitting, mental game, strength and conditioning. Over the years I served as an officer in the LPGA T & CP Division. I was also an LPGA National Evaluated which required me to train the incoming teaching professionals. I have competed at all levels of golf, Junior, College and mini tour.

How did you get started teaching?
I worked at a country club for playing privileges while playing college golf. The Head professional took me under his wing and shared his expertise with me. My major in college was teaching elementry school but I ended up teaching the game that I loved instead.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Please be sure when you are looking for a golf instructor that they are certified as a PGA or LPGA Member. They are the best educated and qualified to assit you in all areas of your golf game.
