A Lifetime of Golf Learning

My background in golf goes back to growing up on a hilly, nine-hole course in the Shawangunk Mountains of New York. The technical, challenging lay-out, with side hill lies, tight fairways and slick greens made me both a creative, precise ball striker and also a master “scrambler.” I was extremely fortunate to have had a talented PGA Class A Teaching Professional, Geoff Walsh, to oversee my development.

Like many young golfers, I had dreams of playing professionally on the PGA Tour. These aspirations pushed me to play competitively at a very high level through the junior ranks, into High School and eventually four years on the Varsity Team at a D-II Empire Division College, including two years as Team Captain.

After college I pursued a career in the wine and spirits industry. I was fortunate to find a profession that involved travel to many locations synonymous with golf; the United Kingdom, the Caribbean, Florida and the Southwest. So access to golf has remained a constant in my life, as has my appreciation for the complexities of the golf swing.

I’ve always enjoyed helping friends with simple, key swing tips and I’ve experienced great pride witnessing the improvement in their game. So I decided to obtain the necessary training to acquire a teaching degree from the “Professional Golf Teachers Association of America.” Now I am excited to share my knowledge and passion with you for the game of golf.
