Belly Dance is a perfect junction of art and fitness. Accessible to most, it can be as mild or as strenuous as you choose, but it’s always equally beautiful and feminine. It never gets old or boring, because it’s a constant creative process. It keeps challenging you physically, and yes, mentally as well!
Belly Dance is also an amazing form of therapy, a wonderful release of stress and tension. It empowers and encourages a positive body image. It fulfills your emotional need for feeling confident and beautiful, both inside and out.

As a dance teacher, I make sure to create a welcoming and warm environment for my new student. I make sure to be mindful toward my student's goals and motivations. So, first of all, I will ask my student what attracts them in Belly Dance and what are their goals. I am also happy to answer any questions pertaining to our lesson.
Secondly, since I am a certified fitness trainer, I will find out if my student has any physical challenges, limitations, past injuries etc. As well, as if my student is physically active on a regular basis, and if they have any experience with any kind of dance. This information can be hugely helpful in creating a program for my student.
After that, I usually start my Belly Dance playlist and we delve into our first lesson, which begins with a light warm-up.
Depending on the preparedness of my new student, we begin with practicing the correct dance posture and alignment, and then start working on specific elements or moves. Over time, we will be adding more and more new moves, and combining them into more complex combinations.
If my student already has experience in Belly Dance, we start from their level and gradually work toward more complex moves and combinations.
My lessons are fun and informal. I love encouraging my student and supporting their creativity, all the while making sure that they emply a safe and correct form.
Every lesson ends with a cool down/stretch, after which I am happy to answer all additional questions and then schedule our next lesson.
Dance is my life-long passion. I’ve discovered Belly Dance in 2006. I have been fortunate to study under some of the best artists, like Ansuya, Sonya, Marjhani, Sashi, Sherri Wheatley, Zoe Jakes and Rachel Brice.
I usually charge $30-50 depending on the length of our lesson, and I offer prepayment discounts.
