Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
talking to them or the parents on the phone to see what they have done and why it hasnt worked.. From there structure a schedule to work with me the coach and the student time availability.
What i do on the court is the magic of being able to disect what they know and ask them to erase the old and introduce the RIGHT
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken many courses which are usually hands on. I have taught and trained with USPTA, USPTR, USRSA and even wheelchair classes to help my players who play wheelchair tennis. But some activities for able body can go back and forth for chair players and visa versa!
I currently play at least weekly at about a 4.927 ntrp and feel that i can compete with many high level players and even tone it down for my kids or beginner moms/ dads
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do but it is easier explained on phone.. Usually booked by the month to reserve one hour time slots each week so the client can be consistant and i the trainer can be consistant with schedule and understanding recovery of each player.
How did you get started teaching?
when i was about 18 years old, but coach asked me to fill in and assist him with some little players. Then i tried my info out on a girlfriend, she went pro, the rest is history....
What types of students have you worked with?
All, all levels, all languages, even sign language, wheelchair, able bodies and so called CANT DO ITS. but if you can show up you can try!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
when i can clearly share a stroke info, the student, SAYS WAIT A MINUTE, BUT I READ ON THE INTERNET ANOTHER WAY.... THAT IS WHY YOU DONT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SEE OR READ ON THE INTERNET. ;) :)......
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
talk to them ask a few questions, try them out.. some coaches might be poor on the phone, but you need to see how they are on the court.. if they stick tell them to call me for a lesson, i can fix the wanna be tennis coach too.. RATES ARE HIGHER FOR MESSING PEOPLE UP.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
they dont know what to ask, so what you dont know you cant ask!
