Meet Your Coach...

Ayumi is from Honolulu, Hawaii and has competed in state and national tournaments since she was 12 years old. She comes from an extensive playing background competing in numerous USGA and AJGA tournaments throughout her playing career. She graduated from Moanalua High School with a scoring average of 72 and played collegiate golf for the University of Idaho and McNeese State University.

Ayumi is currently going through extensive training with the country’s top instructors. She most recently spent time training with Andy Plummer in Miami. She has also had the opportunity to train alongside the legendary Mac O’ Grady, E.A Tischler and Top 25 Instructors in America, Bob Grissett.

Ayumi’s passion for helping others succeed with their own games is what inspired her to pursue a career in teaching. In 2013 received her ‘Class A’ PGA Professional certification. She spent four years in Texas as the Director of Instruction at Walnut Creek Country Club and Hackberry Creek Country Club overseeing and teaching all instructional programming. Ayumi formed a junior, men and ladies golf academy at Hackberry Creek Country Club and also lead the way as Team Captain for the Hackberry Hornets PGA Junior League team.

With 11 years of teaching experience, Ayumi dedicates her time into developing golfers into Players. She is patient and enjoys working with all ages, skill levels and personalities. She incorporates a system that allows room for individual differences as not everyone will fit into one swing due to anatomy, physical limitations and experience. She is a firm believer of the Coach-Student Team effort and helps students succeed and achieve personal goals by educating and motivating them to realize their true potential. She is more than an Instructor, she is a Coach developing students into well rounded players.

Success in golf is a life style change and Ayumi will help you to understand the importance of working on your game so that it is functional and repeatable on the golf course. She will also guide you down the process on developing a strong mind. Her knowledge, energy and outgoing personality makes learning golf an enjoyable journey!

I come from a background in competitive golf and grew up taking lessons every week and participating in national tournaments. I Love golf because it is a life long game and to be able to help my students see their true potential through our lesson journey is the biggest joy. We get to our goals by all means necessary. I consider myself a motivation and coach, not just an instructor. There is so much to golf than just swinging a club. We dig deep into the mental side of the game. I am also fortunate to have training under some of the smartest coaches in the game!
