I have a perfect setting for what I do. I teach oil painting in my country home in West Sebastopol. I have a newly remodeled barn that serves as my studio . The studio is surrounded by forest and next to a creek.
i have been a painter in oils for over 30 years and I have exhibited internationally. Every piece I have ever created has sold. I studied to become a teacher at age 17 and started teaching High School at 21 years old. I have taught private lessons to special needs students and also to challenged youth in Oakland and in San Franciso.
I am currently in retreat in the Rain Forest and will resume private teaching in the Spring

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I address their skill level and choose the proper approach. This means we may start with eye-hand coordination or move into drawing with graphite first and then pastels with still-life settings in predation to work with oils.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
4 years of Pedagogy for High School Ed at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and 3 years of teaching in a private School at the Mariana Islands, Academy of our Lady in Guam I'm the early 80's Worked as an Art Therapist for the Walden House in San Francisco teaching youth in Reform. Also taught mural painting and Scavenger Art for Project Y. E. S. (Youth Engaged in Service) in the mid 90's
Moat recently I have taught a special needs private student who excelled in life afterwards.
i love working within children and teenagers.
I raised my own child as a single mom and gained a lot ot training through this.
