Deanna Gwilt, CPT-NASM & Yoga Instructor
About
I am a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I am also a Certified Yoga Instructor through YogaFit, Indoor Spin Certified through Stages Cycling, and a Certified MetaFit Instructor.
I am someone who is dedicated to living the happiest and healthiest life possible and I know that my purpose is to share that passion with others so that they can continue to pay it forward with those that are dear to them or they haven't even met yet.
I have been teaching and training for about 5 years in San Diego, CA by myself and with Fit-X Fitness and have been loving every second of it. I will work with you every step of the way and will always be as flexible with you as I can be and just ask for the same in return.
I get to hear about the positive changes clients experience. Everything from a decrease in back pain to feeling stronger are all amazing to hear.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Once I receive a referral I make contact within 24 hours. I ask clarifying questions to make sure I understand what the needs and goals are and then set up a free consultation if we both agree we can work together. The consultation is set to 1 hour where I go over your health history, your current lifestyle, measurements, and level of fitness. I measure your level of fitness based on several active tests and then talk to you about what you want to see happen and I offer my professional feedback based on what I recorded and what your goals are. Typically I schedule new clients for 45 minute or 1 hour sessions. I understand that many have busy lifestyles so I work with you on what you can personally commit to.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my initial Certification in Personal Training from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in 2013 and I have been practicing ever since. In 2014 I became an independent contractor with Fit-X Fitness and started teaching group fitness classes all over San Diego. Since then I have become a YogaFit Certified Yoga Instructor, an Indoor Cycling Spin Instructor through Stages Cycling, a MetaFit Certified Coach, an Aqua Aerobics Instructor through ASFA, and taken countless courses online to further my education.
Currently I am working toward my Corrective Specialist Certificaiton that will allow me to work more extensively with those in post-rehab and those experiencing any moderate muscular imbalances.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
30 min sessions = $30
45 min sessions = $45
1 hour sessions = $55
Please note that if I am traveling to you I add up to an additional $10 for gas and time spent traveling.
How did you get started teaching?
A friend of mine had referred me to Fit-X Fitness and after applying I started picking up classes and been going strong ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with those in their 30s all the way up to their 90s.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A performance I did with a dance team I am a part of. Yes, I live an incredible life.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you know what certifying body they went through to gain their title and experience. You want to make sure they went through a trusted and reliable sourse. Also, if the teacher does not respond to you within 48 hours, they may already have a stacked schedule.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
