Michelle Hamano strives toward pedagogic mastery of teaching piano students as young as three-years old since 2011. Through their private lessons, studio recitals, bi-monthly workshops, and MTAC competitions, evaluations and recitals, students of Ms. Michelle refine and polish their pianistic skills rigorously throughout their study all year long. The value of piano education weighs high in Ms. Michelle's teaching philosophy. Her motivation to establish a strong student-teacher relationship plays a triumphant role in the positive and interactive nature of her group and private teaching. Each student is catered to and provide professional guidance to meet hteir own personal needs adn goals. To meet the expectations through quality and excellence of a well rounded musician, Ms. Michelle focuses on the five foundational elements of music: technique, sight-reading, repertoire, ear training and theory. A majority of her students participate in an annual evaluation program (Certificate of Merit) hosted by the Music Teachers Association of California, in which students establish and meet yearly benchmarks within those five capacitities of music making.
Ms. Michelle graduated with honors from California State University, Fullerton in May of 2016 with a degree in B.M. Piano Performance and B.A. Piano Pedagogy. She is currently pursuing a masters degree in piano performance under the tutelage of Dr. Rob Watson.
Ms. Michelle believes in setting and meeting musicianship goals with each student and furthering his or her musical talents and abilities in a positive, supportive environment. She hopes to create a lifelong love for music for her students.
