About

Whether you are a complete beginner, or an advanced student, I can help you bring your guitar playing to the next level. We will work on everything from posture and correct hand technique to advanced subjects such as phrasing and musicality. I am more than happy to provide you with pieces that best fit your playing ability and exercises that will get your fingers in shape to play the classical guitar.

As a teacher, I am very relaxed and open minded. I like to take lessons seriously so that you will actually learn how to play the guitar, but I want our lessons to be something that you can look forward to doing each week. I am very nice and easy to chat with, and I focuss my teaching on building students up rather than breaking them down.

I have taught private lessons for six years, as well as done some teaching at a few music studios before I moved to Woodland Hills. I am currently pursing my Master's Degree in classical guitar performance at CSUN, and I plan on getting a DMA afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

When I have a new student, I like to see where they are as a player before we start. I might have them play something for me, or if they have never played guitar before, then we would just start by learning how to sit with the instrument.

Learning how to play the guitar can be very challenging, so I like to start students off with simple and enjoyable exercises before moving on to pieces. I have many books that have duo guitar music for begginer students. This allows me to play along wtih the student, which often eliminates performance anxiety and just gets the student playing guitar within the first couple of weeks.

I graduated with a BM in classical guitar performance from Chapman Univeristy and I am currently pursing my MM at CSUN. I also plan on getting a DMA so that I can become a professor and teach guitar at the college level.

I have taught private lessons for six years now, and hope to continue doing so.

I usually charge 20$ for each hour lesson. I like to keep my lessons affordable to students.

I got started teaching at the end of highschool when one of my friends asked me to teach him how to play guitar.

I have worked with all kinds of students. I have taught beginners how to play their first chords, and I have also worked with more advanced players who were looking to expand their playing ability.

I usually don't teach students under the age of 8 because their fingers are not strong enough to play the guitar yet.

My advice would be to send that teacher and email, or call them up on the phone and just get to know them first. You want to find a teacher that you have a personal connection with, and make sure that you have an enjoyable time each week taking your lessons.
