I am spirit who's calling is to provide direction and value for those who seek to develop their mind and body. I specialize in personal training, meditation, journaling, breathwork, martial arts, and yoga. The development of your physical body requires mental/emotional changes, thus, it's fundamental to facilitate the simultaneous growth of both. What we'd do is identify where you are and where you'd like to go while maintaining a balance of self-acceptance and self-improvement—unlike the toxicity of the modern self-help movement which is primarily concerned with self-improvement. The end-goal of our work together is to give you the tools nec

Janet S. says, "Heather is AMAZING! I am not sure where I would be today, without her knowledge, kindness, and ability to push me (just the right way!) I have been hesitant for years on doing personal training, but decided during COVID that I should and I can't be HAPPIER! I even got a box of equipment that was delivered to my house to make my sessions even more challenging. If you want someone who CARES and is KNOWLEDGEABLE - contact Heather. She is AMAZING!" Your Yoga Classes questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.

How much do yoga classes cost?

Single group sessions at yoga studios cost $15 to $20 on average. For private yoga training, you will likely spend between $30 and $70 on each lesson. Yoga classes mostly take place in a group setting, and the price per class depends on the location, yoga teacher’s knowledge and experience, and years of teaching.

How long is a yoga class?

On average, a yoga class is 75 to 90 minutes long. Many instructors say 90 minutes is simply how long it takes to pace through all the sacred yoga asanas, but a new shorter 60 minute class is quickly becoming popular with students.

What to wear to yoga class?

Most women prefer to wear tank tops or a sports bra that's made of a cotton and lycra (spandex) blend when they do yoga. Loose tee shirts and underwire bras are usually a no-no because they have a tendency to get in the way of movement.

For the bottoms, most women prefer to wear tights. These comfortable and stretchable pants will provide you with a full range of movement and allow your instructor to check your alignment. For slower-paced classes, you may be able to pull off wearing long skirts or stretchable harlem pants.

What to bring to yoga class?

Although many necessities are usually provided for you, there are a few things you may still want to bring yourself.

Here's what to bring to yoga class:

  1. Comfortable yoga attire
  2. Water bottle
  3. Hand towel
  4. Yoga mat
  5. Change of clothes
  6. Post-yoga snack

How often should you do yoga?

For those who are already quite active, doing yoga at least once or twice per week is recommended. For experienced practitioners, doing yoga every day is not uncommon. However, if you begin to be sore, consider taking a day or two off. Even if you only do you for one hour a week, you will experience the benefits of the practice.

How long does it take to get good at yoga?

There are many beginner yoga poses and sequences that you can get good at in your first yoga class. On a more spiritual level, it may take a lifetime to find the union between mind, body and spirit. You should expect to practice regularly for about six months before you feel confident that you can perform fundamental poses steadily and with some degree of proper form.

I lost so much in my body’s fitness the last few years. But Heather never made me feel any judgement or regret as we got started - she’s so focused on celebrating what your body can do right now and moving forward. Love the energy and encouragement in every session. I’m finally feeling like myself again!

I worked out regularly with Julie for several years with fantastic results! I am not one of her younger clients so bathing suit season was not my inspiration, strength and mobility were. I am taking a hiatus because of my husband's health but look forward to getting back to her when possible.
