Through my experience as a concertizing pianist combined with the knowledge I gained through my study for music in higher education, I will be able to teach you or your children not just the basic of how to play piano, but how to be technically fluent and musically expressive with a comprehensive music education. I believe having the ability to express the intangible beauty on an instrument is truly a special and meaningful gift and my goal is to help you achieve that.
As a teacher, I strive to help students reach their fullest potential as independent musicians and creative artists. I am dedicated to cultivating musical excellence and providing guidance for developing healthy and effective technique. Through my experience in teaching various levels of students in both group and private settings, I have learned that there is not a single teaching style that fits all. I am constantly challenging myself to develop curricula that cater to individual needs while maintaining the methodical structure required for realizing long-term goals.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first lesson includes evaluation of new students' current ability.
Prior to the lessons I will communicate with my non-beginner students and ask them to prepare 1-2 pieces that are representative of their current level. After the first lesson, I will be able to get an accurate idea of the student's learning style, technical ability, responsiveness, etc and assign appropriate repertoire and exercises to my students.
For complete beginners, I start by going over the basics, such as posture, hand position, basic theory and note reading. At the end of the first lesson, my beginner students would gain solid foundation and be able to play 1 simple piano piece with right hand.
Ultimately each student is different and my teaching style includes my accurate assesment of their ability and personality and use the most suitable way to teach each unique individual.
