I have 40 years of live performance experience and I share this valuable accumulated knowledge with my students so they know what to expect when they get into a band. I customize each lesson plan according to the students personality and aptitude. We learn how to dissect and analyze song arrangement as well as gaining the coordination and reading skills needed by all drummers.
It's rewarding to see people of all ages realizing how amazing it is to learn how to play drums and eventually get into a band. I also really enjoy seeing drummers who already have a certain amount of skill- improve their abilities to perform At a much higher level and in a variety of styles which they may be unaccustom to.

I had always wanted to play drums as a kid, but didnt end up trying it until I was quite a bit older. After one year of taking lessons from Steve, Im playing rock, jazz with brushes, and Latin beats. Steve is a very good and patient teacher, his studio is the perfect setup for lessons, and his enthusiasm is infectious, making the lessons reallly enjoyable. He is truly an ambassador for the instrument.
