About

My satisfaction comes from seeing REAL progress in a student based on working together toward a common goal. I've been teaching guitar for over 45 years. My guitar work has been published by established companies such TrueFire, Warner Publishing, Alfred Publishing, Hal Leonard, Mel Bay, Acoustic Guitar Magazine. In 2017 Guitar Player magazine listed me as one of the 50 transcendent superheroes of the acoustic guitar. I've shared the stage with such greats as Leo Kottke, Tommy Emmanuel, Eric Johnson, Sergio Assad, Andy McKee, Stef Burns and David Tanenbaum.

I feel great when I see and hear a student making true progress. I also love to see any of my students recording a good video of one of the instrumentals studied together and post them on YouTube! My work is to transfer my passion and love for the guitar to my students of all ages and musical background.

have enjoyed and benefitted tremendously working with Peppino for quite some time. He is patient, fun, funny and of course amazingly skilled. It is a nice combination to learn from a world renowned guitar player who actually makes you feel like you have potential. Additionally I have had the opportunity to perform with Peppino (I was the singer) and know how truly professional and serious he is about bringing out the best in himself and those with whom he works. And, lastly, when he speaks in Italian his accent is almost perfect!
Thanks Peppino for being a truly great teacher and mentor.

It’s great to be able to learn from such an innovative composer, who also happens to be a wonderful teacher, with a mastery of many acoustic guitar styles.
I am working with him on pieces that challenge my abilities, through focussing on things like note duration and the correct fretboard fingering, and it’s improving my guitar technique and performance a great deal.
Peppino has also worked with me on composing music for the guitar, introducing me to new composition approaches which have enabled me to produce music that I wouldn’t have thought possible when I first started taking lessons with him.
I highly recommend Peppino as a guitar tutor for players of any skill level. He will help you achieve your goals, and you’ll have fun doing it.

Peppino D’Agostino transformed me from an average rock and blues strummer into an authentic guitarist. After a lifetime of strumming power chords and playing boring riffs Peppino taught me how to understand and really begin to play this beautiful instrument. In two years of studying fingerstyle with Peppino I have learned and grown more as a guitarist than in the previous 40 years of my musical life. He is remarkable because he is one of the best acoustical guitarists on the planet but he has no ego that gets in the way. He is as intuitive and skilled at teaching as he is playing guitar, fills our lessons with rigor and challenging guitar work and understands how to tailor the lessons to match my abilities so I can be successful. And, he also manages to get me laughing and we have a lot of fun! Peppino has helped me fill my life with beautiful music beyond anything I have ever experienced. He is simply the best!

    Frequently asked questions

I will start by evaluating the student's skill. Based on the technical level I will choose with the student the material to explore. I do believe that motivating the student by teaching repertoire relevant to his/her interest is essential. I've been teaching many musical styles and I'm looking forward to bring my students to the next technical level and to appreciate the gift of Music

45 years of teaching guitar to students from all over the world in three different languages (English/Italian and French). 3 tutorial books published by Alfred Music, Hal Leonard, TrueFire. 40 years of international tours. 19 albums published by 5 different national labels. My CD 'Every Step Of The Way' was awarded by Acoustic Guitar Magazine People's Choice with a bronze medal for best acoustic album of all times.

I could see the student once a week or every two or three weeks based on how much time you could dedicate to the instrument. It's entirely up to you.
I will create a Dropbox for each and provide the study material, MP3s, and instructional videos. All the Zoom sessions will be recorded so that you'll be able to review the material.
We can see each other on Zoom for 30 minutes, and the price would be $60.
Option two is 60 minutes, and the price would be $85.
The other option is 1 and 30 minutes, and the price would be $100.
    Payments via Paypal or Venmo.

I started in Italy when I was 18 and I got hired by Valentino Music a Music Academy in the town of Turin.

Beginners to advanced and some professinal player as well.

My perfomance with Tommy Emmanuel in Prague. It was absolutely wonderful to make music with such a great player!

My tours with Eric Johnson and Andy McKee were also brilliant!!

I would suggest to look at their resume and career. In addition I would read the teacher's studebts comments.

One quality that you absolutely need in a teacher is patience!

The student should think about his/her goals and about the methods the teacher would use to get them to achieve their musical vision.
