What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have been teaching tango for twenty years now and am devoted to my students. I am able to quickly pinpoint the student's need and tailor each class to maximize the student's learning experience.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
With over 20 years of tango under his belt, Daniel Arias has made his mark as instructor and performer in Argentina. After an extensive European tour, Daniel settled in Los Angeles, CA in 2014 and established himself as a popular teacher of our local tango community. He is the only Milonguero Style instructor in LA and is known for his crisp and quick steps, musicality and connection.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with absolute tango beginners as well as experienced dancers who want to fine tune their skills.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I fondly remember participating for several years in the Chicago Tango Festival as a performer and instructor and more recently at the Los Angeles Tango Summit and Competition, 2019, where I participated as a judge, performer and instructor.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher and stick to just one. Taking lessons with many different teachers when you are starting is very confusing given tango has many styles and nuances. Once you get experienced you can start sampling styles.
