I love to see people grow as performers and persons. There are few things as rewarding as seeing someone accomplish a goal. I saw one of my students go from shy to confident. She was struggling with her Polish accent. After some time working with me, her confidence soared and she started getting roles. Another one of my voice over students went from being local to national. One of my high school students went from barely being able to sing to having the lead in his high school musical! He is now growing as a musician and singer as he has begun taking music theory and piano lessons in addition to voice.

Paul is a fantastic piano teacher. He taught my youngest son and I was always impressed by his knowledge and patience. What really sets him apart however, is how adjusts his lessons to suit your childs individual learning style.

    Frequently asked questions

I like to see where the student is and if we are a good fit. First we talk via phone or google hangouts. For piano we do some scales, exercises, and do some sight reading and I have the student play something they already know. Then we begin exercises to strengthen the hands and/or voice, as well as figure out what music or text would be good to study..

Private piano study, BA in music, post graduate studies in voice at Manhattan School of Music, private composition and theory classes.

I have  a BA in music from Cleveland State University and did some post graduate work at Manhattan School of Music. I learned IPA, RP, and Standard American from Kathryn LaBouff (Manhattan School of Music) and Italian Diction from Glenn Morton (Manhattan School of Music). My voice teachers include Noelle Rodgers, Mark Oswald, and John Norris. I've had additional singing coaching from Andy Gale and Mark Janas. I've sung as a professional soloist and choir member in churches across the country and am a member of the Hamblin Singers, a professional ensemble in NYC.

I studied classical voice and began by teaching a few friends. Over time I started teaching professionally. I developed my teaching more from studying with opera teachers world over. I constantly read articles about vocal technique, anatomy, and am trying new things.

Broadway singers, voiceover artists, and singers who want to go from amateur to professional. Serious amateurs and professionals are my specialty.

One of my students, in one year, went from barely being able to sing after his voice changed to having the lead in his high school musical.

I saw one of my students go from shy to confident. She was struggling with her Polish accent. After some time working with me, her confidence soared and she started getting roles. Make sure your teacher is a good personality match, has studied with good teachers and has technical knowledge of the voice, and is interested in your progress and helping you achieve your goals. Your singing should be relaxed and as easy as possible.

Does the teacher have technical knowledge of the voice? Do they vocalise you? Offer solutions to passages other than, "you are going flat here."? There should be different approaches to solving the flatness through vowel modification, body adjustments, looking at breathing, posture, etc.
