About

With over 13 years of experience as a competitive year-round swimmer, Andrew had many ups and downs.

He had always wondered how he could get through the times when he wasn't improving. At one point, he spent a lengthy two years in the same place without improving, and without any best-times.

He needed a competitive edge, and thus created a unique training program that quickly increased his stamina and strength, and improved his overall speed in the water.

Growing up I was never the most in shape kid in my class or good at things the popular kids were good at. Until I started training correctly.

Every goal I set for myself I did everything I could to achieve it. I love the feeling of accomplishment and feeling like I did something I could be proud of.

I love helping people with their fitness and swimming goals so they have this same feeling. The smile they have at every progress check is why I do what I do because they see they are able to do what they have always wanted to do.

Where to begin? I had an amazing body 3 years ago, weighing 155lbs at 57 height. Then i got pregnant and had my beautiful daughter Gianna who was an extreme blessing even though, i gained 90lbs, and got super depressed! I didnt think i could do anything about it! Well... after i met this amazing, wonderful , great spirt, and so inspiring Andrew Barmann he changed my mind. Working with him made me realize anything is possible i need to lose 90lbs and so far in just 1 month of training with him, Im down 20lbs! I know alot of people think its just about the weight loss but its not. i feel happier, stronger, and more motivated thanks to Andrew. More training with him to come because i will not leave this man until Im down my 90lbs and after haha! Keep up the amazing work you do! You put so many smiles on so many peoples faces.

For all of my clients I have an in person consultation with them to go over what they are looking to achieve. This consultation goes over any prior instruction, if any, and any limitations they may have.

For Strength and Conditioning clients I conduct a few short fitness assessments in order to come up with the best plan for them specifically.

I have been a competative swimmer and athlete for over 13 years. I competed at the NCAA Division 1 level at UCSB as a distance Swimmer. I have been taught the Swim America lesson plans for swimming instruction.

I started teaching at UCSB during my Senior year as an internship that turned into a job. Since then I have worked at LA Fitness and Pasadena City College.

Currently I have private clients in West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Miracle Mile areas of Los Angeles.

I have worked with kids younger than 2 years old all the way to elderly adults.

My typical Swimming Clients are club swimmers and adult Masters Swimmers looking to improve their technique and endurance. I also teach kids learning to swim for the first time.

Strength and Conditioning, or Personal Training Clients, are typically endurance athletes and weight loss clients.

The most important part of finding any kind of instructor for physical activity is making sure you get along with your trainer/instructor. It is very important to find someone you feel comfortable with, trust, and can be truthful with. They know what they are doing, and will get you to your goals, however you have to do your part as well.

Everyone also always wants to ask about cost right away. Let your teacher explain how they are going to help you before you start asking about cost. We get it, money can be a deal maker or breaker. However, you are asking for us to do something that will help you achieve something you haven't done before or want to get back to. If you feel your trainer is a good one, find ways to fit them into your budget. Giving up a few restaurant dinners every month is not only good for you, but will then allow you to do something that will make you feel good about yourself.

Make sure you are healthy enough to do physical activity, and if you aren't sure ask your docotr. Any and all limitations you think you may have make sure you have them ready to show your teacher.

Have questions ready to get to know your teacher/trainer as they are going to be along for your journey and the better the relationship, the more successfull you will be.
