Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I prefer finding out what my students likes and dislikes are, then designing projects around them. Each lesson we should have a complete pice of art 😊
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am mostly self taught but I have had the pleasure of working with a few classically trained artists.
How did you get started teaching?
Teaching has always been enate in me. I will always be a student and as long as I have knowledge to share I will share it 😊
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all ages from 4 to 80!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I didn't want to teach my 7yr old oil painting yet because the materials are a bit pricy and the chemicals can be unhealthy if mistreated. He looked at me with is cute little face and said " How am I ever going to learn how to oil paint, if you won't teach me how to oil paint?" I knew in that moment that he was ready to learn.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I guess the most important thing I could say is find someone you get along with. Don't be afraid to try many different teachers until you find the right fit! Art should be cathartic for some and a free and safe space to be fully expressive. Most of all art should always be fun!
