What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start out with an introductory lesson and get the student familiar with the horses.After the introduction the student has lesson time with an additional half hour allowed to practice what they have learned.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a therapist in Colorado and have over 15 years of mental health experience a. I spent my entire lifetime with horses,and I enjoy sharing my horses with others.I graduated from Adams State University with a Master's in Counselor Education, and my undergraduate work in Equine Assisted psychotherapy was completed at Albright College in Pennsylvania where I earned my Bachelor's of Science degree in Organizational Behavioral Psychology.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Horseback riding lessons are $35 for an hour and a half.
Therapy/Counseling is a sliding scale fee.
Group lessons of two or more students are $20
Group therapy and workshops minimum of 4 clients are $15
How did you get started teaching?
I have always had a passion for helping others and I started teaching in 1998,when a friend of mine asked me to assist her daughter in learning to ride.
